Dr. Maria Sole Bandini, aka “Dr. Sole”, hails from Italy and joined the Cayman Animal Hospital team in July 2023.

Dr. Sole completed her veterinary training in Italy in 2020, with a Dermatology-focused final-year thesis on Malassezia Dermatitis. Upon completion of her studies, she moved to Barcelona to shadow a Veterinary Dermatologist in a busy 24-hour practice. She then moved to Ireland in 2021, where she practiced in two different small-animal clinics until her move to the Cayman Islands this year. So far, she is enjoying the island rhythm of Cayman, as well as the opportunity to build relationships and rapport with her clients. Dr. Sole truly values being able to thoroughly work-up her cases, applying her expert knowledge and passion to each case. Dr. Sole’s approach to her work aligns perfectly with Cayman Animal Hospital’s dedication to nurturing the human-animal bond and helping pets live healthier, longer lives.

Dr. Sole has professional special interests in Dermatology and Internal Medicine. She is currently studying towards a Dermatology Certification through the University of Liverpool and looks forward to applying her specialist knowledge as she treats the islands’ many dermatology patients.
